Services: Kinetic Link Training

I have the expertise to take you where you want to be.
Your health and wellbeing is my priority.

Kinetic Link Training

Kinetic Link Training (KLT) offers you a time-efficient and systematic approach to developing (and maintaining) functional strength and movement control.

KLT primarily focuses on something we all have in common – that is, the desire to move through life with ease, strength and control. KLT exercises and workouts are totally adaptable to suit all ages and all levels of athletic ability. So whether you are beginner, a recreational fitness enthusiast or an experienced athlete KLT will work for you.

All Kinetic Link Training exercises and workouts adhere to several basic functional training principles:

  • Stand up to train – this means no seats and no benches.
  • Perform integrated movements – this means to concurrently move the upper body and the lower body for every exercise.
  • Demonstrate appropriate levels of stability and posture control – this means only train the prime movers (the big superficial muscles) to the extent that the stabilisers (the deep, small, often hidden muscles) can provide sufficient support to adequately control the core, spinal alignment and peripheral joint positions. KLT exercises should always be performed with excellent posture, looking smooth and graceful.

What is the difference between KLT and traditional Gym programming?

Traditional gym training commonly contains isolation and focuses on individual muscles. Although this has a role to play in the rehab of a weak or injured muscle, traditional gym training often uses stability taken from external supports such as seats and benches. This does not always relate to everyday activity or sporting activities.

KLT utilises the use of various muscles and kinetic chains to develop strength and control in a functional position. Movements are broken up into their core function motions such as pushing, pulling, squatting or lunging. This way the exercises that are functional and will use groups of muscles rather than individual joints and movements. Whilst some movements will seem unique, it provides a functional advantage and unique change from your standard gym exercises.
